Garmin now has a topo map, for all the relevent countries of the trail on mini-SD card, that can be bought and installed in your Garmin GPS. HERE is a link to one place you can buy it
(I found one on ebay for around $48)
Also: there is an app for smart phones, called "Outdoor Active" that is about trails and tracking.
You can find the Via DinaricaWhite trail on there and have the topo map (very detailed) on your phone.
It takes some getting used to but, you can add waypoints etc.
Claire used both on her hike and also bought a few paper maps at the National Parks.
