Stove Info from Claire

Claire is a thru-hiker from the Netherlands, who is on the trail now (August 2016) and just sent me some info about availability of stove fuel and types of stoves to think about.
Here is what she said:

I used a MSR pocket rocket. There's not many canisters for this one for sale. The punch trough canisters are for sale everywhere. They use it for making coffee here. Just like stoves that fit on it. For me, solo, too heavy. Gasstations and cars everywhere so multifuel stove is a good option. It's very dry at some parts, so an open stove/alcohol isn't really LNT

So, she is talking about the "GAZ"

or "Blue-it" stoves with the blue canisters. I have one of these for sure and possibly 2. I imagine you'll be able to buy one there, since the fuel seems available everywhere.

I have 2 of these in PA.

I have 2 of these in PA.   Will take one to Christine when I see her in Oct.

The fuel comes in many sizes.  Christine, you might remember this is what Aaron used on the AT that year that he hiked.
